2026 Trout Friendly Landscaper Certification - Now virtual!

Check back here on April 15, 2026 at 8:00 am MST.

It's that time again — your annual Trout Friendly Landscaper Certification is just around the corner! This year, we're excited to offer the certification virtually, making it easier than ever to maintain your status as a Trout Friendly certified landscaper or business.

The Trout Friendly Lawns program was launched in 2018 to help our community maintain beautiful lawns and gardens while protecting our waterways from nutrient pollution. This year's virtual certification will cover  topics such as water conservation, pesticide application and monitoring efforts in Teton County, the challenges and opportunities of working with native plants, and more.

How it works: Complete a short video series and quiz online at your own pace. You must pass the quiz with at least 80% to receive certification. The certification page will go live on April 15 at 8 A.M. and close May 15, 2026 at 11:59 P.M., so you'll have a full month to complete it on your own schedule, for FREE. As a part of the online certification, you will also need to fill out a Trout Friendly Lawns Business Partnership Agreement.

Trout Friendly Business Certification: If you choose to certify your business as Trout Friendly, you commit to 1) adopting Trout Friendly practices in your business, 2) completing the Trout Friendly certification every year, and 3) promoting Trout Friendly Lawns with your clients. In return, you'll be included in press releases and advertisements celebrating your commitment to the program and receive Trout Friendly materials, including truck magnets/decals and a lawn sign to display at your business.

Once again, the certification page will go live at 8 A.M. on April 15, 2026 and close at 11:59 P.M. on May 15, 2026.
